A word from the king

Our blog… Blah blah blah

Your car, your cover: What does comprehensive insurance really include?

If you’ve ever wondered why comprehensive car insurance costs more than other options, the answer is simple: It covers more. But ‘comprehensive’ doesn’t mean ‘everything,’ and far too many people only find this out after something goes wrong. Which, in our opinion, is the worst time.

So, we figured we’d put together something easy to scan, identifying what King Price’s comprehensive car insurance actually includes… And what it doesn’t. We’ve even added in some tips on what should you keep in mind when choosing cover. We know, we’re pretty great like that.

Let’s crack on and break it down in a format that’s easy to scan. Think of it like a cheat sheet, containing all the info you need in 1 shot.

What’s covered

✅ Accidental damage:

From fender benders to more serious smashes, the king’s comprehensive cover pays for damage to your car after an accident, even if the accident was your fault.

✅ Theft and hijacking:

If your car is stolen or hijacked, you’re covered for its full insured value (as per your policy). You should also know that we offer discounts on your premiums for installing a tracking device when it’s a requirement from our side.

✅ Fire, explosion, and natural disasters:

Whether it’s a fire in the garage or a tree crashing through your windscreen during a storm, we’ve got you. Damage caused to your car by these types of risks are covered.

✅ Third party liability:

This is a big 1. If you damage someone else’s car or property in an accident, we’ll cover the costs (up to a certain limit), so you don’t have to pay out of pocket.

✅ Towing and roadside assistance:

If your car breaks down or is involved in an accident, help is just a call away. Just make sure you use our royally approved service provider.

Here’s what’s NOT covered

❌ Everyday wear and tear:

Tyres, brake pads, and general maintenance aren’t included with your royal cover. Think of it this way… Insurance is for unexpected events, not upkeep.

❌ Unlisted drivers or incorrect information:

If your car is driven by someone not listed on your policy, or if your details aren’t accurate, it could affect your claim. Like, your claim could be rejected.

❌ Driving under the influence:

No cover applies if the driver was under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time of the incident.

❌ Using your car for business without the right cover:

If you’re doing deliveries or using your car for work purposes, you need to tell us. Otherwise, your claim could be rejected.

What was that about the add ons

You can supersize your policy and tidy up any loose ends by adding to your policy. For example, you can add the king’s car hire to your policy so that you’ve got paid-for transport while your car is being repaired (or replaced).

Here are some other extras:

  • Credit shortfall (if your car is financed).
  • Scratch and dent cover.
  • Cover for sound systems or accessories.
